Any Tourist Information Centres carry leaflets about tours and, if you’d rather be independent, self-guided tours compete with street maps, public transport advice, and details about the attractions you pass en route. Japan Grey Line, telephone – 3433 5745, offers city day tours and river cruises or, at the more expensive end, you can have dinner with a classical theatre performance included for ¥4000-10 000. Jun’s Tokyo Discovery Tours, telephone – 3749 0445, offers one-on-one guiding if you don’t want to be part of a group. The itineraries are tailor made and you will need to book a few weeks in advance. Other well-known tour operators include;
